Become our Sight Loss Council delivery partner in Wales – application deadline 10 January 2025
Can you help deliver a new vision for change in Wales led by blind and partially sighted volunteers? Thomas Pocklington Trust is inviting potential delivery partners in Wales to apply to help us establish and deliver Sight Loss Councils across the country.
Sight Loss Councils (SLCs), funded by Thomas Pocklington Trust, are regional groups led by blind and partially sighted people. Together, they work with organisations to ensure what they do is accessible and inclusive.
This invitation aims to build on the success of our growing number of SLCs in England and Scotland which have grown from one to around 25 in seven years.
Emma Hughes, Director of Services at Thomas Pocklington Trust, said:
“We welcome organisations with experience of working with blind and partially sighted people in advocacy and campaigning roles, and who truly want to put lived experience at the heart of the work of Sight Loss Councils.”
There is funding available for successful delivery partner(s) to deliver two Sight Loss Councils as part of a pilot over the next two years. We anticipate delivery starting from April 2025.
To apply, please request an application form from Rachel.Wilkinson@pocklington.org.uk – Please say whether you would like this in Welsh or English.
Interviews will be held week commencing Monday 13 January 2025 in Cardiff.
Closing date for applications is 5pm on 10 January 2025.
